Misha Pesin launches fundraiser for Beit Halochem in Edmonton Jewish News Chanukah edition

Edmonton Talmud Torah student Misha Pesin bonded with Israeli soldiers at a young age; now (years later) he's devoting his Bar Mitzvah project to Beit Halochem. He is selling holiday greetings in the Edmonton Jewish News Chanukah edition with proceeds going to Beit Halochem Canada.

(EJNews) – Since his first visit, Talmud Torah Misha Pesin has had a close connection to the State of Israel and the young men and women that serve in the Israel Defence Force. This is why Misha has chosen Beit Halochem Canada as his Bar Mitzvah Project.

Beit Halochem Canada (Aid to Disabled Veterans of Israel), is committed to rehabilitating, rebuilding and enhancing the lives of over 51,000 Israelis who have become disabled in the line of duty or as victims of terror. Beit Halochem Centres in Israel provide specialized sports, recreational and therapeutic programs.

Caring for disabled veterans and giving them and their families the help they need is Beit Halochem’s top priority. Beit Halochem is a place where the disabled can regain dignity and quality of life.

To raise funds for this worthy cause, Misha and his friends will be calling members of the Jewish community to sell Chanukah greetings to be printed in the holiday edition of Edmonton Jewish News. Anyone wishing to support the disabled Israeli veterans please email your greeting to bhed577@gmail.com and you will be contacted for payment information.

Or you can click here to place an order online.

This coming December during Chanukah the Pesin family and friends will be traveling to Israel for Misha’s Bar Mitzvah at which time Misha will personally visit the Haifa Beit Halochem Centre and will present this worthy institution with the funds raised in Edmonton.

The greetings cost $36 (plus gst); $18 represents a charitable donation for which a receipt will be issued by Beit Halochem Canada – a charity registered with Canada Revenue Agency.
