JNF Edmonton hosts enjoyable terrarium workshop

(EJNews) – JNF Edmonton hosted a successful terrarium workshop on Wednesday August 10 at Fleurs Flowers in West Edmonton Mall. Over 25 enthusiasts gathered for a lesson on how to create a terrarium by one of the experts on staff at the flower shop. Lots of materials were available including shells, rocks, decorative balls, moss and succulents so each participant could create an individualized terrarium for their home, office or to use as a gift. JNF even provided miniature Israeli flags so the finished products could have a Judaica ambiance.

Everyone had a great time, the atmosphere was warm and friendly. Anna Kos from JNF Canada attended and spoke briefly about the importance of water conservation in Israel. This tied in nicely with the energy efficient gardening techniques being pioneered in the ARAVA in the desert in Israel and the efficiency of the succulents used in the terrarium that were being created. She then mingled through the crowd and spoke with individuals about Jewish National Fund projects in Israel.

Refreshments were served and everyone went home with some new gardening skills, a personalized terrarium and new insight into the many projects of the Jewish National Fund.
