(EJNews) – Summer in Edmonton means the return of festival season in Alberta’s Capital and once again the season will be anchored by the always-fantastic Edmonton Folk Music Festival.
The 2016 Folk Fest will be taking place August 4 – 7 at Edmonton’s Gallagher Park featuring headliners Passenger, Nathanial Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Jason Isbell and The Tallest Man on Earth.
Tickets went on sale June 4 and sales have been strong but there are still opportunities to get tickets.
In fact, a limited number of single day tickets will be released on Thursday July 21 for Saturday and Sunday.
Ticket sales will begin on Thursday at 9 am through Ticketmaster and 9:30 am through the Festival box office located at 10115 97A Avenue or (780) 429-1999.
Ticket prices: Adult Saturday/Sunday $85.00 per day, Adult Thursday/Friday $70.00 per day, Youth and Senior $22.00 per day.
Weekend passes will also be available to the end of July.
If you’ve never been to Folk Fest, you should give it a try. And if you are a longtime fan who missed out on the ticket launch, don’t miss the opportunity now.
Each year the Festival comes to Edmonton and envelopes Gallagher Park with amazing and a friendly easygoing atmosphere. It’s a great opportunity to take a break from everyday life for the weekend or just a day or night and sit back, relax and enjoy some great live music in a beautiful outdoor venue. With 64 artists playing this year, plus countless food vendors, art and craft displays and merchandise, and activities for kids and families, there truly is something for everyone.
The main stage is located at the bottom of the hill at Gallagher Park, creating natural stadium seating for all those in attendance, and featuring one of the most gorgeous views of Edmonton the city has to offer, and amazing sound quality.
In addition to the main stage, the festival has continuous music being played on 7 side stages throughout the day featuring several fan favorites that are always thrilled to be involved in the Festival, Dar Williams, The Barr Brothers, Sarah Harmer, Dervish and Eric Bibb and Corey Harris and many more.
