(AJNews) – Solemn Yom Hazikaron services were held in Israel and around the world on May 3, including in both Calgary and Edmonton, honouring fallen Israeli soldiers and victims of terror. The Calgary commemorative event was held at the Paperny Family Calgary JCC, co-sponsored with Temple B’nai Tikvah.
In Edmonton, a somber service was held at Beth Shalom Synagogue on May 3. As in Israel, a siren was blasted to initiate the service, followed by a camdle lighting service, prayers and remarks that honoured fallen IDF soldiers, victims of terror and their bereaved families.
