(Edmonton) – Who wants to straighten her or his teeth with no metal braces, enjoy her or his meals as normal, with no need to remove teeth in most cases and with no pain or discomfort?
Invisible orthodontic technology (Invisalign provided by Align technology) with accessories from other companies now are proved to speed up the orthodontic treatment instead of the standard two-year treatment (see below before and after 9 and 15 months’ treatment with Invisalign with no teeth removed).
There are many new techniques now available in Canada called light (Biloux, BC, Canada) and Acceledent from USA as well as propel from USA. Recent studies and case reports have shown that with some technology Invisalign can be faster with these new technologies.

Many patients had been previously told that they were not candidates for Invisalign; in fact many of those when they visited our office were provided with Invisalign treatment and their treatment time was shorter than average regular braces treatment time.

In most cases there is no need to remove adult teeth or have jaw surgery in many cases no matter how the teeth are not straight or if the overbite is big.
While children are growing it is doable for orthodontists to redirect the growth of the jaws if they are growing in abnormal direction. With new technologies, in many cases now there is no need for headgear, big bulky appliances inside the mouth or even metal braces. Invisalign now is easy to use, more tolerable than braces, less painful and more hygienic with no limitations to food use. We have used Invisalign in teen and younger patients at age of 8 and more with huge success compared to traditional headgears or bulky appliances.
