Designer and Judaic Illustrator Shelley Werner, is the host of Art and Scroll Studio.
(AJNews) – The whimsical holiday art that appears on the cover of this month’s Alberta Jewish News is by Shelley Werner, a designer and illustrator who recently moved from Winnipeg to Calgary. Her art has become a favourite feature of several of our recent holiday editions.
An award-winning speaker, she is one of the founding members of Art and Scroll Studio and is the host of their live Zoom series featuring the makers and creators of Judaica art. Now in its fifth season, full episodes can be found at youtube.com/@artandscrollstudio.
In her own art, her interests include the Alberta landscape, which has brought her a new form of meditation on majesty, as well as Judaica and botanical themes. She uses bold colours, acrylics, watercolour and markers to create multi- media projects. Shelley is passionate about integrating Tikkun Olam in all things. Sculptor/blacksmith Craig Kaviar will be the featured guest on Tuesday January 21 2025, 7:00 pm MST on Art and Scroll Studio, a live zoom series that celebrates the makers and creators of Judaic art.
