Revera acquires Our Parents Home Retirement Residence in Edmonton

(AJNews)  – On December 16, 2020 a news release was issued from Revera Inc. announcing its acquisition of OPH – Our Parents Home Retirement Residence – known as Beit Horim in the Edmonton Jewish Community. There is no mention in the release about its proximity to or relationship with Beth Shalom Synagogue or with the Edmonton Jewish Community. Alberta Jewish News will update our readers about this once more information is available. The news release appears below:

Revera Inc., a leading owner, operator, developer and investor in the Canadian senior living sector, has assumed ownership of Our Parents’ Home Retirement Residence in Edmonton Alberta. The residence, which will retain its name, opened in 2015; it has 84 Independent Living suites, one floor with 17 Supportive Living suites, and two secure floors with 33 Memory Care suites. The transition is being completed as seamlessly as possible, with no disruptions to service, care or dining, and ensuring all pandemic protocols and infection prevention and control practices continue to be maintained at the home.

“Our Parent’s Home is a special place for Edmonton seniors, and we’re delighted to be welcoming the residents as well as the employees – all of whom have been offered their positions here – to the Revera family,” says Tom Wellner, president and chief executive officer of Revera. “With this acquisition, Revera is expanding its presence in Alberta, and in Edmonton specifically, which is an important focus for our growth strategy.”

With the addition of Our Parents’ Home, Revera’s Alberta retirement portfolio now includes 15 retirements residences, including the newly opened The Scenic Grande in Calgary. In partnership with One Properties, the company is also constructing Glenora Park in Edmonton.
