(EJNews) – An exceptional 2016 Negev Gala was held last night, June 23, 2016 at the Edmonton Timms Centre for the Arts celebrating the living bridge between Edmonton and the State of Israel. The Gala was hosted by two Israel based organizations – the Jewish National Fund and the Hebrew University – coming together to honour the remarkable achievements of Dr. James Shapiro and his pioneer Islet Transplant Program at the University of Alberta. The Jewish Community was fortunate in having the opportunity to hear Dr. Shapiro speak about his program as well as the distinguished keynote speaker Col. Adam Sussman, Israel’s Military Attache to Canada.
