Edmonton Negev Gala honours Lisa Miller and Farrel Shadlyn QC: June 19

Lisa Miller and Farrel Shadlyn QC are the honourees of the 2018 Edmonton Negev Gala which will be held on June 19.

(EJNews) – The Jewish National Fund of Edmonton will be honouring Lisa Miller and Farrel Shadlyn QC at a special Negev Gala Dinner on Tuesday June 19, 2018 at the Fantasyland Hotel Ballroom in West Edmonton Mall.

Lisa and Farrel are deeply committed to the Jewish Community of Edmonton and to Israel. They are an inspiration to the community for their leadership and dedicated years of service.

Proceeds of the Gala Dinner will benefit the Ettenberg Israel Tennis Centre (ITC) in Haifa and support The Lisa Miller and Farrel Shadlyn QC Tennis Courts for Peace. ITC uses tennis to promote unity by bringing together children of different socio-demographic backgrounds.

The ITC in Haifa promotes Arab-Jewish coexistence through its renowned Doubles Coexistence Program. ITC also provides after-school enrichment and educational programs. In this way, barriers are broken down and children, as well as their families can build a more secure future. It is a place where children from varying means, backgrounds and abilities learn to speak a common language and play a common game. This project will provide a safe harbour for children living on the margins of society in Israel and encourage them to explore and maximize their potential.

The gala will include a delicious kosher meal and a wonderful evening of entertainment on the theme “Jewish Composers on Broadway” featuring local theatre favourite Rachel Bowron and pianist Mark Limacher. It is definitely going to be a night to remember.
