(EJNews) – An interesting, enjoyable and informative Shabbaton was held at the Beth Israel Synagogue from May 13-14 with special guest Rabbi Motty Berger.  The weekend was co-hosted by Beth Israel and the EDJGE.

Rabbi Berger is a lecturer in Jewish Philosophy at Aish Hatorah of Jerusalem. He founded an organization called ‘Jews for Judaism’ to address the problem of missionary activity.  Rabbi Berger travels extensively world-wide as the senior Discovery lecturer. He is known for his provocative and unique take on Judaism that attracts audiences from all levels of observance.

His lectures were well received during the Shabbaton, providing lots of information for discussion. His topics included: Is there more than one way to be a good Jew; Forget about G-d, who am I; and The Messianic concept and the Middle East.

There were services and activities for kids and delicious meals throughout Shabbat.
