(AJNews) – Seven teens from Alberta are attending this year’s B’nai Brith Youth Organization (BBYO) International Leadership Training Conference (ILTC) in Pennsylvania. ILTC runs from June 24 until July 13 and is a summer leadership experience for teens in current grades 10 and 11.
ILTC’s primary focus is on leadership at the council, regional, and International level. Teens focus on developing a wide range of leadership skills including effective team collaboration, communication strategies, and relationship building, as well as learning how to shape a global movement. Teens learn through interactive workshops, self-selected rotations, and programming throughout the day. These skills and more will help the teens succeed long after their AZA and BBG high school experience comes to an end. Through classic camp activities and unique bonding moments, they will build confidence, grow their personal networks with friends from around the world, and strengthen their Jewish pride.
ILTC welcomes around 200 Alephs and BBGs each summer. BBYO programming professionals and advisors serve as the site director, program director, operations director, leadership director, and leadership staff at ILTC. They are also joined by Jewish educators, song leaders, Israeli counselors (sh’lichim), expert specialists, college-age counselors (madrichim), and an office manager.
