(Calgary) – JNF Canada’s Calgary region has become known for its slo-pitch softball fundraising tournament, called Pitch for Israel. As the name implies, players and supporters raise funds for JNF Canada’s important work in Israel, building social infrastructure (hospitals, bomb shelters, youth centres, parks, clinics, safe homes for women and teens, and more).
This year is the 10th anniversary of this ever-popular event, coming up on Sunday August 31st. It’s a fun day of friendly competition, with teams from both Calgary and Edmonton. Anyone 16 or over can play, and if you don’t know one of the captains, we can find a place for you on one of the teams.
Mid-day we take a break for a picnic lunch (provided). For kids too young to play, we have a supervised large bouncy castle and snacks. Spectators are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs (there are bleachers too), and you can order lunch through us as well.
