(AJNews) – There was cause for celebration on August 20 as Valleyview IGA returned to Edmonton’s Parkview neighbourhood with a new store that includes a generous supply of kosher products.

Kosher products at Valleyview IGA – 9106 142 Street in Edmonton.
Customers will find a full-service grocery store offering fresh produce, a full-service bakery and deli, ready-to-enjoy meal options and a selection of everyday essentials.
In addition to Kosher products and meat, the new store will feature an assortment of local products.
The grand opening was a gala event that included an enthusiastic ribbon-cutting ceremony with invited guests and staff members and a cheque presentation of $2500 in gift cards to the Jewish Federation of Edmonton.
The IGA replaces the artisan grocer L’OCA Quality Market, which shut down this past March after operating in the space for just over one year.

Valleyview IGA opened on August 20 with a gala event and ribbon cutting ceremony.
One of the invited guests to the opening was Andy Taschuk, the long-time beloved proprietor of Andy’s Valleyview IGA at that location. “Operating the store for 59 years meant a lot to us and our family,” said Taschuk. “The community around this IGA store is the best community in Edmonton. They really appreciate the independent grocer.”
This location has a warm and inviting small community feel to it, says store manager Stuart Trenchard and he is committed to providing great service and maintaining the community ambience.
“Customers have been knocking on the doors for two months since we’ve been doing construction — they’re so excited to see us come back,” he said. “They’re so excited to see the IGA brand come back.”
Valleyview IGA is open now for business – daily from 9 am to midnight.
