Statement by Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau on Yom Kippur

TORONTO – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, issued the following statement on Yom Kippur:

“At sundown, we will observe the beginning of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

“A time for repentance and renewal, Jewish communities here at home, and around the world, will gather to fast and pray, reflect on the year that has passed, and seek peace and reconciliation for the year to come. It is a reminder of the traditions passed down by generations of Jewish Canadians, which continue to enrich our national fabric.

“On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada, Sophie and I extend our very best wishes to the Jewish community on this meaningful and sacred day. G’mar Chatimah Tova.”
