North West Canada BBYO is hiring an Edmonton City Supervisor

(Edmonton) – North West Canada BBYO is recruiting for the position of Edmonton City Supervisor.

Summary

Reporting to the Board of Directors, North West Canada BBYO Society, this individual is responsible for overseeing and guiding the teen led activities of Edmonton NWC BBYO. The City Supervisor is accountable for ensuring a viable BBYO program in Edmonton, planning and implementing activities and ensuring the safety and well-being of the teen participants.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities 

Recruit and engage existing and new teen members Supervise Chapter and Regional programs and conventions Recruit volunteer chapter advisors for conventions and events

Ensure compliance with, and enforcement of, NWC and International BBYO policies Promote mission and core values of BBYO, and chapter folds for AZA and BBG Resolve conflict and problems as required, and ensure documentation for BBYO files Prepare and monitor basic budgets and expenditures

Meet regularly with Chapter and Regional Presidents and review and advise on programs Promote BBYO within the jewish community, school environments and on social media Attend meetings, and report to the NWC BBYO Society Board to ensure fundraising and ad- ministrative commitments are met.

Communicate regularly, consistently and effectively with teens, parents and the Board Maintain and submit a bi-weekly timesheet, outlining tasks completed and outcomes Identify programs, speakers and opportunities for programs and conventions

Maintain an organized, detailed “office”, with all required policies and paperwork adhered to Connect with International BBYO, as required

Qualifications

Demonstrated skills working with teens within a teen-led environment Good understanding of accessibility and diversity needs

Good understanding of Jewish traditions and culture Excellent organizational skills

Energetic and passionate about leading teen groups Demonstrated integrity, initiative and creativity

Demonstrated ability to work independently and be a self-starter Excellent written and oral english language communication skills

Valid Class 5 Driver License an asset

Current first aid/CPR an asset, or willingness to qualify if required

Current Vulnerable Sector Verification – Police Check required

University degree, or in progress, preferred

This is a part-time contract, 10-15 hours per week, from August 17, 2020 to June 30, 2021, with possibility of increased responsibility and hours as COVID restrictions change. This position is work-from-home, with the exception of attending meetings, programs and conventions. Overnight travel required, and ability to work evenings and weekends.
