(Calgary) – Purchase a 50/50 raffle ticket today and help Na’amat Canada Calgary provide backpacks and school supplies for kids in need. This raffle will be ending on Thursday, June 30th at 11:59 pm MT and the winning ticket will be drawn on Canada Day, Friday, July 1st at 11 am.
Since the inception of the Na’amat Canada Calgary School Supplies for Kids program in 1998, more than 24,000 backpacks filled with grade appropriate school supplies have been given to the children taking refuge in Calgary and Southern Alberta’s domestic violence and homeless shelters. Typically, these traumatized children arrive at the shelters with little more than the clothes on their backs. Adding to their obvious distress is the anxiety of attending a new school without so much as a simple pencil case or backpack. Our program fully equips these youngsters with the items they need to resume their education with dignity and pride.
With the support of generous 50/50 Raffle sponsors and individuals that purchase raffle tickets, Na’amat Canada Calgary’s, School Supplies for Kids program will continue to provide for these vulnerable children and help make a meaningful difference in their lives. In addition, the Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink, a non-profit program run under the Calgary Shaw Charity Classic Foundation will match the proceeds from this raffle up to 50%, so your support will go even further!
