JFS presents the Sigma Alpha Mu 2018 Scholarship grant

(EJNews) – Each year Edmonton Jewish Family Services (JFS)  awards a Sigma Alpha Mu scholarship grant from a fund it administers that was set up to support Jewish Students study at the University of Alberta.

This year’s recipient was Michal Shaposhnikov who is a full time BSc Chemistry Student and is about to start her third year and has ambitions to advance her studies into Pharmacology and Chemistry fields in further degrees. She is heavily involved in the local Jewish community and has recently become the President of Hillel.

Michal writes “I am so grateful and honored the Jewish Family Services chose me as the recipient of the Sigma Alpha Mu scholarship. I am so excited to begin this new school year, and look forward to giving back to the Jewish community as much as possible through Hillel and other organizations. My Judaism is a huge part of my identity, and being an active member of the Edmonton Jewish Community is of high importance to me.”
