(Edmonton) – Beth Shalom, Edmonton’s conservative egalitarian congregation has announced the hiring of Rabbi Alisa Zilbershtein as their new senior Rabbi and Spiritual Leader.
In a message from their board of directors, they write, “It is with great pleasure that we announce the hiring of Rabbi Alisa Zilbershtein as the senior Rabbi and Spiritual Leader of Beth Shalom…She joins us with much enthusiasm, and a desire to create meaningful moments for all of us.
“Rabbi Zilbershtein will be joining us at Beth Shalom and Edmonton soon, as we anticipate her first official Shabbat with us on August 10th. We will soon announce other opportunities to meet Rabbi Zilbershtein as she introduces herself to our Beth Shalom and entire community.”
Rabbi Zilbershtein joins the Beth Shalom Congregation from Toronto, where she recently served as the assistant Rabbi at Congregation Beth Tikvah. She received her smicha from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, and a Masters Degree in Jewish Civilizations in Heidelberg, Germany.
