Community update: Adam Silver will be relocating to Ottawa

by Lisa Libin

(Calgary) – It is with mixed emotions that I am sharing the news that Calgary Jewish Federation’s CEO, Adam Silver has decided to re-locate to Ottawa. As I’m sure everyone will agree, Adam, Deborah, and their three children – Hannah, Lilah, and Benji – have been an instrumental part of our community over the past nine years.

With the desire to be closer to family in the East, Adam has accepted a role as President and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Ottawa and Ottawa Jewish Community Foundation. He will continue to serve as our CEO until the end of this June.

On behalf of the board of directors, we are grateful for the dedication, vision, and hard work Adam has consistently put into ensuring Jewish Calgary remains a vibrant, welcoming, and thriving community. Adam’s leadership has helped our community stay strong and connected during some of our most unprecedented, troubling times, including through COVID and the tragic events and aftermath of October 7.

During the coming months, the board will be actively engaged in the search for a new CEO. Adam and the board are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and that our community remains a safe, caring, and connected home for all of us.

Please join me in expressing deep gratitude and appreciation to Adam for his contributions to Jewish Calgary and in wishing Adam and Deb the very best in their future endeavours in their new Ottawa home.

B’Shalom.
