(AJNews) – Chabad of Edmonton will be hosting Rabbi Betzalel Katkowsky – a sofer – from January 29 to February 2 in order to facilitate the checking of Tefilin and Mezuzot.
Anyone wishing to avail themselves of this service kindly call Rabbi Ari Drelich at 780-993-1818.
There will be a nominal charge of $8 per Mezuzah and $65 for Tefilin (provided no special additional work is required). As a rule, Mezuzot should be checked twice every 7 years and it is recommended to check Tefilin from time to time as well.
“As Edmonton does not have an in house Sofer this is a unique opportunity for our community,” said Rabbi Ari.
