A Holiday Classic Comes to Life at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium

(Edmonton) – This holiday season, audiences are invited to relive the magic of a beloved family tradition with Home Alone in Concert! Under the baton of Maestro Francis Choinière, the FILMharmonique Orchestra will bring John Williams’ enchanting score to life, while the holiday classic plays simultaneously on the big screen. The concert will take place at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium on December 14, where families and fans of all ages can experience this iconic movie like never before.
From heartwarming melodies to mischievous moments, Williams’ score is a magical complement to the story of 8-year-old Kevin McCallister, who’s accidentally left behind when his family leaves for their Christmas vacation. As Kevin defends his home from two bungling burglars, audiences will be captivated by the hilarious and heartfelt tale that has made Home Alone a Christmas tradition for over 30 years.

About the FILMharmonique Orchestra
The FILMharmonique Orchestra, composed of world-class Canadian musicians, is Canada’s premier film music orchestra. Since its founding in 2015 by Denis Chabot, the FILMharmonique Orchestra has presented sold-out film concerts every year at Place des Arts’ Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier. Among the films presented in concert are Harry Potter, Amadeus, Star Wars, The Godfather, Gladiator, Titanic, Fantasia, La Passion d’Augustine, Bugs Bunny and Lord of the Rings. The FILMharmonique Orchestra has also accompanied many internationally renowned artists, including Hans Zimmer, Andrea Bocelli, Stevie Wonder, Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones), Ute Lemper, Patrick Bruel and Stacey Kent.
The Orchestra’s mission is to make classical music accessible to a wider audience. For some members of its audience, FILMharmonique concerts are their first experience of live classical music. Its goal is both to attract existing audiences and to cultivate a new, inclusive audience of classical concertgoers across Canada. The FILMharmonique is committed to promoting Canadian artists, cultural exchange, music education and accessibility. Since their creation, they have also recorded several albums on the GFN Classics label: L’univers symphonique du cinéma, Vivaldi and Piazolla’s Four Seasons, François Dompierre’s Requiem, Phonèmes (François Dompierre), Arise (Clann), Noël à l’Opéra (Lyrico), and Hidden Asset (Michel Corriveau.)
About GFN Productions
GFN Productions is a Quebec-based music producer and promoter, presenting over 75 concerts each year across Canada. The company has worked with a diverse range of artists, but specializes in the production of large-scale symphonic concerts and orchestral recordings.
GFN’s projects have included collaborations with a number of international stars, including Andrea Bocelli, Ute Lemper, and Patrick Watson. In recent years, GFN Productions has become the largest promoter of live-to-projection “cine-concerts” in Canada. Since 2018, GFN Productions has partnered with the Orchestre FILMharmonique to present popular films and franchises in concert. The company is also the manager of the Orchestre FILMharmonique, which is based in Montreal, but performs regularly nationwide. Since the beginning of their partnership, GFN has produced four albums under the label GFN Classics, five concert films, and a documentary short titled Passé recomposé.
As a full-service producer, GFN Productions is also an artist manager, and offers a range of services including tour support, orchestral contracting, and music recording.
