(AJNews) – On Wednesday October 27 at 7:30 pm, House of Jacob Mikveh in Calgary will be hosting a community wide Challah Bake for women to join together and take part in the very special Mitzvah of baking challah, in honour of the Worldwide initiative The Shabbos Project.
This will be a masked and social distanced program for a mitzvah close to our hearts,” said event co-host Emily Rassin.
“We are fortunate to have the opportunity to make this event an in-person get together, in cooperation with Alberta Health Guidelines and proper Covid-19 safety procedures,” she added. “We encourage all Jewish women and girls to join us.”
Rebbetzin Malka Halpern is co-hosting the event, which will be held at HOJMI, House of Jacob Mikvah Israel in Calgary. She explained that the Challah Bake is for women of all ages and all levels of observance and affiliation. “It is for all women in the community, ranging from experienced Challah bakers to beginners,” she said.
“We will have all the supplies available onsite to bake the Challot and assistance will be provided to those who need it.
“This upcoming event allows us to re-connect to a network of women as one, inspiring each other, and igniting a greater excitement within us all to fulfill the special mitzvah of Shabbat.”
The cost is just $18 per person / family. To register, email Emily.rassin@gmail.com
