(Calgary) – Allied Voices for Israel and Calgary Jews Stand United (CJSU) have joined together to host a an inspiring evening event – United We Stand Calgary – on Saturday Dec. 7 at 7:30 pm, featuring Yoseph Haddad, a prominent Arab-Israeli journalist and advocate for Israel. The event is generously presented by Israelimall.com and St. Steven Stein.
As the CEO of the Together Vouch for Each Other organization, Yoseph works tirelessly to connect Arab-Israeli communities with the broader Israeli society. His remarkable journey, including his service in the Israel Defense Forces and his commitment to social activism, makes him a powerful voice for understanding and dialogue.
Join United We Stand Calgary to support their critical work at Allied Voices for Israel (AVI) to empower, educate, and unite students – Jewish and non-Jewish alike – to combat antisemitism and hatred on high school, college, and university campuses across Canada.
This year alone, AVI has inspired thousands of Canadians and students on campuses such as Concordia University, University of Toronto, University of Calgary, and University of British Columbia to serve as advocates for Am Yisrael. They have engaged non-Jewish allies in several communities who are speaking up against anti-Jewish hatred on campus – please click here and here to meet a few of these incredible student leaders.
Through their intensive AVI workshops on understanding Jewish indigeneity to Israel, utilizing the IHRA definition of antisemitism, and building coalitions on campus and experiential programs such as Common Ground Ambassadorship for university students, AVI brings together Canadian students – Jewish and allies – from campuses across the country to reframe the narrative about Israel on campus. They provide countless opportunities for students to learn from high profile experts, attend informative talks and events, and run AVI tabling campaigns to engage and educate their peers on campus.
Please join Allied Voices for Israel and Calgary Jews Stand Together for an evening of engagement and support for this important initiative. The address will be shared closer to the date.
Sponsorship opportunities for this important initiative are still available.
