A spectacular Purim in Edmonton

Celebrating Purim in Edmonton at the Chabad Purim Feast in Outer Space, held at the Fantasyland Hotel on March 21.

(EJNews) – Purim in Edmonton is a spectacular holiday. Both Jewish day schools and the synagogues celebrate the holiday with gusto as well as the Seniors Centre.

The biggest celebration was Chabad of Edmonton’s Purim Feast held on March 21 at the fabulous Fantasyland Hotel. The ballroom was filled with holiday revelers dressed in costumes that matched the Outer Space theme.

The food was great, the bouncy castle and the bubble guy kept the children enchanted, and the ever energetic Rabbi Dovid Pinson emceed throughout the evening and included several parades of children showcasing their wonderful costumes.  Yasher Koach to Rabbi Dovid and his team of amazing volunteers. Another Purim party, held earlier that same day was for Jewish Singles, aged 39 years and up. The event was held from 11 am to 1 pm and included a light lunch as well as a casual atmosphere to socialize with other singles over board games, musical instruments and of course delicious hamantashen.

On March 20, a Purim Party was held at Beth Shalom that featured a pasta dinner and best of all a wonderfully entertaining Purim Schpiel. There was singing, dancing and great humour for the whole family. Click here for our photo gallery.

On March 15 Temple Beth Ora hosted an Intergenerational Pre-Purim event that included a children’s carnival, a shiur for the adults, a hamantaschen bake and preparation of mishloach manot as well as a buffet dinner.
