(Edmonton) – On October 7, the Edmonton Jewish community will gather at Beth Israel Synagogue to mark one year since the devastating attacks. This ceremony will serve as a powerful reminder of the strength found in unity and the importance of standing together during times of grief and reflection. (Click here for information about the event that is taking place in Calgary).
Read the Edmonton Jewish Federation leadership’s opinion piece, ‘Oct. 7: A Painful Blur for Edmonton’s Jewish Community,’ published in the Edmonton Journal during Rosh Hashanah.
We invite you to join us as we honour the memory of those murdered and show solidarity with those still held hostage. Through shared prayers and music, we will create a space for grieving and healing. This will be a time to provide comfort, remembrance, and commemoration on this somber first anniversary. We hope you will stand with us.
There will be an opportunity to view the October Seventh Exhibition, showcasing works made by independent artists and featured at Hostage Square in Tel Aviv.
Security will be on site. Preparations have been made in consultation with law enforcement.
