(Hey Alma) – Last year’s Oscars made Jewish history when Mikey Madison and Adrien Brody became just the third pair of Jewish performers to snag the Academy Awards for both Best Actor and Best Actress in the same year. And while it’s yet to be seen whether or not the 98th Academy Awards will be as noteworthy an evening in Jewish Hollywood history, the recent Oscar nominations announcement has ensured that it’s at least a possibility.

Timothée Chalamet won a nomination for his role as big-dreaming table tennis savant Marty Mauser in “Marty Supreme.” This is the third-ever Oscar nomination for the 30-year-old Jewish actor, who was previously recognized for his roles in “Call Me By Your Name” and “A Complete Unknown.” Following his Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Awards wins for “Marty Supreme,” it seems that this might finally be the year that Timmy reigns supreme at the Oscars.

As a whole, “Marty Supreme” — the most Jewish film in the best picture race, thanks to its 1950s Lower East Side locale and very weird Holocaust honey scene— came away with nine Oscar nods. This falls behind “Sinners,” starring Jewish actress Hailee Steinfeld, who received a historic 16 nominations. “One Battle After Another, directed by Haim bestie and husband to Maya Rudolph Paul Thomas Anderson, also did well for itself with 13 nominations. Meanwhile, in the animated short category, “Butterfly,” a film about French Jewish Olympic swimmer and Auschwitz survivor Alfred Nakache, picked up one nomination.

But before Conan O’Brien takes the Dolby Theatre stage to host the 98th Academy Awards on March 15, here are all the big Jewish nominees to root for:

Sean Penn (“One Battle After Another”)

Best Director
