All the Big Jewish Nominees at the 2026 Emmys

(Hey Alma) – The Emmy voters seemingly did not want season two of “Nobody Wants This.”

When the Television Academy announced nominees for the 78th annual Emmy Awards this morning, they passed over TV’s arguably most Jewish show. Netflix’s hot rabbi rom-com, starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, and created by Erin Foster, came away with just two nominations; one for outstanding comedy series, and the other for outstanding music supervision. Though that’s only one fewer nomination than at the 77th Emmys, “Nobody Wants This” was completely shut-out of any individual or acting categories. As Joanne might reason, perhaps Emmy voters got the ick.

Even so, this isn’t reflective of how Jewish creatives did overall! Noah Wyle and “The Pitt” came away with an impressive 25 nods, and the extremely Jewish-adjacent “Hacks” came just behind that with 24. Even Judd Apatow’s “Mel Brooks: The 99 Year Old Man!” documentary garnered 6 noms.

Lorne Michaels received his 113th career nomination as Executive Producer for “Saturday Night Live,” which is nominated for Outstanding Variety Series, alongside Jon Stewart who executive-produces “The Daily Show” and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Eugene Levy also received a nom in his capacity as a producer on “The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy,” competing in the Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series Or Special category.

There are also plenty of Jewish actors to root for when Mariska Hargitay takes the stage to host the the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 14, 2026. Sadly, this list does not include Robby Hoffman or Daveed Diggs, who were arguably snubbed for “Hacks” and “The Boys,” respectively. But Jewish TV-watchers might feel vindication in an extremely meaningful posthumous nomination for the one and only Rob Reiner.
