A message from Stacey Leavitt-Wright, CEO Jewish Federation of Edmonton

Jewish Federation of Edmonton CEO Stacey Leavitt-Wright

by Stacey Leavitt-Wright

(Edmonton) – As we navigate a time of rising antisemitism and global uncertainty, our strength lies in our unity, resilience, and unwavering commitment to one another. This is a decisive moment for our community—a period to reaffirm who we are, what we stand for, and how we help each other.

The Jewish Federation continues to be a vital force in ensuring our community remains strong, safe, and connected. At the heart of this work is the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) campaign, which fuels everything we do—from supporting vulnerable populations and advocating for Jewish interests, to fostering Jewish education and identity. Your support of UJA is not just appreciated—it is essential. It is the backbone of our collective efforts and the engine that drives meaningful change.

Our connection to Israel continues to be a pillar of our identity and purpose. We are proud to share that our partnership with Partnership2Gether (P2G) is being reinvigorated, bringing new opportunities for engagement, collaboration, and mutual support between our community and our partners in Israel. These ties are more than symbolic—they are a living bridge that strengthens Jewish peoplehood across borders.

Looking ahead, we are excited to be moving forward with the Jewish Community Centre (JCC) project, a vision that will create a vibrant hub for Jewish life, learning, and community. This initiative represents our commitment to building for the future—a space where generations can gather, grow, and thrive together. We expect to share more about this project at our upcoming annual general meeting on Wednesday, December 3.

Now more than ever, we must stand together. Let us continue to show up for each other, to invest in our shared future, and to lead with courage and compassion. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
