An important update from Alberta Jewish News –about mail delivery

by Deborah Shatz

(AJNews) – The Canadian Union of Postal Workers are back at work – on a rotating basis.

This means that mail is moving – but it may be delayed.

To increase access to community news, we have distributed more copies of Alberta Jewish News to the gathering places where they are available to community members at no charge.

For our Alberta Jewish News readers, it means that you should receive your October edition soon. Calgary readers will find a Beth Tzedec Jewish Film Festival brochure inserted into the edition and also a copy of the most recent Discovery  newsletter from the Jewish Historical Society of Southern Alberta.

We encourage our Calgary readers to pick up a copy of the October edition, with the Film Festival brochure at one of our partner agency depots. Newspapers, with the brochures are available at the Paperny Family Calgary JCC, Halpern Akiva Academy, Chabad Alberta, Beth Tzedec, Temple B’nai Tikvah, House of Jacob Mikveh Israel, Jewish Family Services Calgary and in a box outside of Safeway at Glenmore Landing. Newspapers without the brochure are available at Calgary Jewish Academy and Gruman’s. The copies with the brochure at CJA are being distributed today. Please pick up a copy of the newspaper at one of these locations and enjoy both the edition and the brochure.

People can view an online copy of the brochure here: https://bethtzedec.ca/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Film-Festival-Program-2025.pdf

Or they can visit the festival website: https://bethtzedec.ca/jewish-film-festival/

In Edmonton, extra newspapers are available at Jewish Federation of Edmonton office, Talmud Torah School, Beth Israel, Beth Shalom, Temple Beth Ora, Bliss Baked Goods, Jewish Family Services Edmonton, OPH, L’OCA, the European Market and in boxes outside of Brook’s No-Frills, Callingwood Safeway and Wolf Willow Bank of Montreal.

Now that the mail is moving, you should have all received the September High Holiday edition. If you did not receive yours – a digital copy of the September Calgary edition can be viewed here. A digital copy of the September Edmonton edition can be viewed here. Please view these digital editions and enjoy.

We are sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused but remain committed to producing and distributing news that informs, entertains, enlightens and connects our community. In addition to our monthly print edition, we produce a weekly online news source – Alberta Jewish Schmooze. It includes the top articles from the print edition plus all kinds of extras.
