EDMONTON – Community members are ready to schmeer and cheer tonight for the Edmonton Oilers in game 2 of the Stanley Cup finals!
On June 5, Edmontonians proved that not only do we go crazy cheering for our beloved Edmonton Oilers but there is nothing finer than eating a Montreal bagel while we do it.
Jewish teens and their families just wrapped up another successful BBYO: Bagels for Breakfast fundraiser featuring St-Viateur bagels. Over 500 vehicles filled with Montreal bagel lovers lined up at Beth Israel Shul to drive through, pick up their bagels and get a nostalgic taste of this iconic Canadian staple.
These bagel lovers pre-ordered their bagels and this is the fifth year in a row that the fundraiser has sold out.
The fundraiser sold 1,440 dozen St-Viateur bagels, of which 71 dozen were donated to Edmonton’s Food Bank. CargoJet and DHL Canada sponsored the overnight transportation of the 17,280 bagels.
The B’nai Brith Youth Organization fundraiser has supported Jewish teen leadership programming in Edmonton since 2020 and has raised a total of $60,000 since it started.
